THE power suit Margaret Thatcher wore to accept leadership of the Conservative Party in 1975 was sold for an impressive £25,000 at a Christie's auction last night - way above its estimated price of £1,000 - £1,500.The outfit was one of seven of the former Prime Minister's ensembles to have gone under the hammer yesterday.Last month we brought you the details of the suits up for sale, each of which was expected to fetch between £1,000 and £1,500.All lots achieved at least four times their estimated value, with five ensembles selling for £6,875 each and another taking £13,750.Other lots included a canary yellow dress suit by Mansfield with stand-out trims and a vivid green outfit worn for an appearance on Panorama in 1972.The themed auction, that was called The London Sale, made a total of £1,442,813 and included an original Routemaster double-decker bus and an Olympic gold medal from the 1908 London Games.
