This evening, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are continuing their Scandinavian tour with a reception celebrating Swedish culture at the Fotografiska Gallery in Stockholmfollowed by a boat ride, before headingto Oslo, Norway tomorrow.
Thus far on her Nordic trip, the Duchess has made a characteristic display of sartorial diplomacy, mixing big British designers like Burberry and Erdemwith Swedish labels like outdoor brand Fjallraven; a patternthat has continued this evening.
The Duchess has opted for another sleeved Erdem gown tonight, not dissimilar to the one she wore for theblack tie dinnerhosted by the British ambassador yesterday, only this one is made from blue velvet.A glamorousandpractical choice, considering Sweden"s subzero temperatures.
The Duchess" choice to wear the same designer two nights in a row is evidently a considered one, given that the Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden has also looked to the same designer for a second night in a row, opting for a red top and black skirt combinationcourtesy of Swedish label Stylein - the same designer who made the chic asymmetric black cocktail dress she wore for dinner last night.
But while the Duchess might be flying the flag for Britain with her dress choice, her coat - a faux fur-trimmed black wrap coat complete with subtle embroidery along the hemline - is by Swedish designer Ida Sj??stedt.
Sj??stedt, who hails from Sweden but studied fashion atLondon"s Westminster University, launched her eponymous label in 2001, and has since becomeone of Sweden"s most popular designers, winningElleMagazine"s Designer Of The Year Award in 2016, and creating both ready-to-wear and couture pieces for a host of royal clients, including Princess Sofia of Sweden who was pictured in an almost identicalcoat to theDuchess" a few week"s ago.
Another of Sj??stedt"s loyal clients is Princess Victoria, who incidentally opted for a delicate floral dress by the designer for lunch withthe Duke and Duchess inStockholm yesterday, as well as a sage green belted coat, which she wore later in the day whilewalking around the city.
Duchess of Cambridge: every outfit everIt"s clear that although the Duchesshas made a conscious effort to show her support for British names while abroad, she has also taken notable style cues from her hosts.
