GIVEN that Brie Larson has been a working actress since the age of 11, her next step - which follows the recent lead of fellow child actress Kirsten Dunst - is a logical one.The actress, who picked up her first Oscar for her portryal of Ma in Room in February, is taking her first big-picture directorial steps - and like Dunst, her responsibilites don't end there.

The Unicorn Store, slated for release in 2017, will see Larson take on the roles of director, producer and actress and "centers on a woman [Kit] who moves back in with her parents.She receives an invitation to a store that will test her ideas of what it really means to grow up," reports Variety.According to IMDB, she is the only star currently cast in the motion picture.

The announcement comes only a week after Larson used her Instagram account to thank her fans for the support they had given her following the news that she would be the first female Captain Marvel."I was reminded how the acceptance of community is a deeply rooted need - but I don't want to live worried people will hate me because I'm myself!" she said."We should all have the freedom to be our authentic selves without fear or judgement."

Like Dunst, Brie has dipped her toes into directorial waters before with short-story movies [2011's Weighting and 2012's The Arm], but this is the first time that she will have a motion picture to her name.Since both the actresses' films are scheduled to be released next year, 2017 is shaping up to be the coming-of-age year for Hollywood's favourite female stars.
