FRESH from showing at London Fashion Week and hot on the heels of winning this year's LVMH Designer Prize, Marques' Almeida - one of London's favourite labels - has scooped yet another accolade: designing costumes for the New York City Ballet and its autumn gala, which takes place tonight.
Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida join a line-up of four labels - Opening Ceremony, Zuhair Murad and Adeam - that have been selected for the fourth annual honour, conceived originally by Sarah Jessica Parker.
Working with choreographer Troy Schumacher on a new work with a commissioned score by Ellis Ludwig-Leone, the duo has created costumes that riff on their signature punches of bright colour.
The evening will also see new costumes from Peter Copping of Oscar de la Renta for a revival of Peter Martins' Thou Swell.
