RIDLEY SCOTT is making a documentary about notoriously private London club Annabel's in celebration of its fiftieth anniversary.The elite Mayfair nightspot has been frequented by some of the world's most glamorous people, from Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor to Kate Moss and Mick Jagger.It is also known for being the only club the Queen has ever visited.
The director's production company, RSA Films, have already started filming, interviewing club members and staff in order to find out about the haunt's "rich tapestry".The hour-long documentary will be shown to members in autumn, with plans for a wider release later this year.
"We are delighted to confirm that RSA Films is to produce a documentary film on Annabel's," a spokesperson for the club told the Evening Standard."Sir Ridley Scott will serve as executive producer.Filming has already commenced and will be concluded by the end of the summer."
Annabel's was established by Mark Birley in 1963, who named the club after his then wife, Annabel Vane-Tempest-Stewart.
