SELFRIDGES will launch a bespoke service on February 4, allowing customers to buy unique and customised pieces.Renowned Savile Row tailor Henry Rose joins the iconic store as its tailor in residence - creating women's and menswear suits from his workshop.Shoppers can provide any reference for Rose to work from and he will use it as his starting point.
Duchess of Cambridge favourite Emilia Wickstead is joining the service with a made-to-order concept, designing a 14-piece collection made up of signature styles that can be altered according to colour, fabric and fit.Wickstead will also be available for one-on-one appointments.Other labels to offer bespoke creations include Scottish cashmere brand Hawick and French chemisier Charvet.
Selfridges has also recently opened a new womenswear space, entitled The West Gallery, which sells a mix of leading and emerging designer labels - from Jil Sander to Saloni.The area is also home to a new eatery, Josephine's, an art deco-inspired restaurant named after Thirties cabaret actress and friend Josephine Baker - who was a friend of the store's founder Harry Gordon Selfridge.
