ALESSANDRA FACCHINETTI has parted ways with Tod's, the label revealed this afternoon.The designer has left her post after three years to "focus on other projects put aside in order to be able to achieve Tod's strategies", Reuters reports.

The luxury house enlisted the former Gucci and Valentino designer in 2013 from Uniqueness, and at the time she spoke of her honour at being an Italian at the helm of an Italian label.

Facchinetti was appointed as creative director of Valentino in 2007 - having previously helmed Gucci's womenswear line for just two seasons before being replaced by Frida Giannini - but was dismissed the following year and replaced by current creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli.No word as yet of where Facchinetti is headed, or who will replace her.
