LULU KENNEDY has aspirations to open a store to house her increasingly-popular Lulu & Co label.
"In my dreams, it would be in a refurbished pub that still had a working bar, and some resident fluffy baby pets for customers to play with," Kennedy told us."As well as our range, I would stock my amazing Fashion East designers and do special projects with friends.I have a way to go, but as Walt Disney said 'If you can dream it you can do it!"
The Fashion East founder launched the label in 2010, using her impeccable eye for finding future fashion stars to recruit upcoming designers to team up on seasonal collections. Now in its seventh collection, the brand's latest collaborator is menswear name Bobby Abley, who Kennedy supported at Fashion East's menswear installations last June.
"I fell for his aesthetic at first sight - it's super-cute and friendly - just like him," she said."Also he had built an actual flying saucer for his exhibit - how amazing is that?He let me borrow it for the lookbook shoot."

The results of the pairing are, as Kennedy describes, "cosmic, optimistic, wearable and fun".It's a cohesive collection with space-inspired motifs taking centre stage, whether embroidered on feminine skater dresses or printed on oversized T-shirts.Separates are also key, created to be easily incorporated into existing wardrobes.Next on the horizon are bags and shoes.
"I love designing for me and all my girlfriends, whether they're a tomboy or a party girl," she said."They're essentially a London fashion girl off-duty.I'm all about hanging out off-duty, or dancing at a party, whenever possible in life."
The collection was inspired by the idea of a happy future - a concept inspired by Kennedy's upbeat outlook.Think unicorn prints and plenty of sparkling Lurex.Prices start at £70 for a jersey T-shirt, stretching to £500 for a dress.
"I'm naturally a happy person and have faith the future will be fun," she said."I think that tends comes through in whatever I do. I've always escaped into my own daydream world because it's nicer than reality and I'll never stop believing in magic."
